Whales Festival 2015; excellent first weekend!

Uvita celebrated the first weekend of Whales Festival 2015 last Friday to Sunday. The first weekend created high expectations for the following 2 whale festival weekends.

Around 20 boat trips were made each day. The boats carry 10 to 15 people per tour and the organization does a good job with planning the participants for each boat. You can buy a ticket for a specific time that is available for your group size. Also during these festival days the whale watching tours are conducted in a responsible and animal friendly way. Besides the whale watching tour the Whales Festival organizes other activities like: environmental workshops, presentations about whales, sand sculpture contest, live music and sport events (athletics and cycling).

The whales arrived at Marino Ballena

Last weekend participants were all very excited about the tour and seeing those impressive whales. At least 5 whales where swimming in the waters of Marino Ballena; the national marine park where the whales festival takes place every year. Visitors could also appreciate the good organization and attractive prices of the tours.
