11 years of quality Sushi in Dominical
For a long time it was quite difficult to find sushi in Costa Rica, but nowadays it is all around and the quality is getting better. Not surprisingly, because key ingredients as Tuna and Shrimp are caught right here in the Pacific Ocean. Dominical Sushi were ahead of their time, already for 11 years they serve quality Sushi in Dominical. Sushi Rolls are their specialty; they offer special rolls like the Kamikaze Sushi Roll: spicy shrimp, jalapeños, cream cheese, green union and tuna on the outside! Of course you have to try the Tico Roll as well: spicy shrimp, avocado, cucumber – and to make it Tico – mango and sweet plantain on the outside.
Dominical Sushi is located next to the Baru River in Pueblo del Rio at the entrance of Dominical; you can’t miss the big sushi sign on the roof. They are open every day from 1 to 10pm.
Affordable quality Thai food in Dominical
Opened since 2016, Phat Noodle brought affordable quality Thai Food to Dominical, Costa Rica. The seating area is located under a simple but cozy open rancho, from there you can watch the food being prepared in the trendy food truck that serves as kitchen. The menu offers a nice variety of healthy dishes; also quite some vegan options. Worried about the food being too spicy? At Phat Noodle you can choose how ‘hot’ you want to have it and they mark clearly which dishes are most spicy. Just reading their menu will make you hungry, like the description of their most popular dish ‘Pad Thai’: blend of lime juice, cane sugar & Thai fish sauce tossed with carrots cabbage, spring onions & peppers with peanuts & ribbons of omelet on gluten free rice noodles. Choice of pulled pork, chicken, beef, chickpeas, tofu, fish, shrimp or calamari.
They also serve craft beer on tap and from 4:30 to 6:30pm they have 2 for 1 Daiquiri happy hour (or free tempura green beans with other drinks). Live music frequently.

El Rancho Restaurant is a bit out of the way compared to the other restaurants. It is located a 8 to 10 minute walk from the Dominical entrance (besides the River Baru). Nevertheless, the walk is worth it (of course you can also drive). El Rancho Restaurant in Dominical is most likely the best all-round restaurant; it offers something for everybody and they use only quality ingredients. El Rancho is the best restaurant in Dominical to eat steak; the Argentinian Churrasco and Tenderloin are just fabulous. Another excellent dish is the delicious Sesame Tuna Medallion and their Hamburger is probably the best in Dominical. Want to try some local food; order the Casado! They also offer a kids menu.

This great little restaurant has a cool food truck vibe (but without the truck). Delicious tacos and burritos prepared with great care. Dominical is home to one of the best micro-breweries of Costa Rica; Fuego Brew Co makes delicious craft beers.
