SAVEGRE JUNGLE RIVER CLASS II - III
Without a doubt, one of the world's best exclusive adventures. A trip of pure unsurpassed beauty, exuberant vegetation and
exploding white water. The adventuresome beginner and the experienced rafter alike will be bewitched by the most beautiful
river in the forest. Along the way we will be stopping at a grand waterfall to enjoy a delicious lunch. The rio Savegre is a
magnificient stretch of coastal whitewater that begins its course by widing out of a sparsely inhabited valley, covered with j
ungle vegetation.
The whitewater is exciting, but not so demanding that you won't have time to enjoy the Savegre's spectacular tropical scenery. Lurking just behind the shroud of lush foliage, you will find a number of truly magnificient waterfalls of the Savegre´s tributaries. Adding to the draw is the profusion of basilisk lizards that can be found basking on its sun-soaked riverbanks.
The manageable mix of class II and III of the lower Savegre is well suited for beginner and intermediate paddlers, although the
enjoyable scenery makes it a worthwhile run for boaters of all abilities.
Its whitewater rapids are spread through out the section, although the most exciting class III drops come within the first mile. The action fades into long, moving pools of flatwater as you near the takeout. This provides a perfect opportunity to spot Snowy Egrets and Great Blue Herons fishing the lower stretches of the river. This tour starts around 8am, you'll be back around 4pm and is operated all year round! Tour includes: Breakfast at 'El Silencio', transportation to the River, equipment and bilingual guides, lunch. Price $ 98 p/p - Minimum 4 rafters - Transportation to "El Silencio" is not included. |
