06/05/2012 – World Environment Day

The 2012 theme for World Environment Day is Green Economy

Practically speaking, a Green Economy is one whose growth in income and employment is driven by public and private investments that reduce carbon emissions and pollution, enhance energy and resource efficiency, and prevent the loss of biodiversity and ecosystem services. These investments need to be catalyzed and supported by targeted public expenditure, policy reforms and regulation changes.

06/12/2012 – World Day AgainstChild Labour

The World Day Against Child Labour promotes awareness and action to tackle child labour. Support for the World Day has been growing each year and in 2012 we look forward to a World Day that will again be widely supported.

06/15/2012 – Arbor Day

On June 15 Costa Rica celebrates Arbor Day as part of the month of the environment, as confirmed the ministry of environment and energy in early June. Costa Rica is a country blessed by retaining much of its territory, about 13 square kilometers in national parks and reserves and the struggle for our country continues to replant every year.

Father’s Day in Costa Rica is celebrated every year on the third Sunday in June.

The weeks leading up to this day the children in school, spend a few hours a day preparing a gift for their parents, aided by the school teachers.

For severalcenturies, the Catholic Church commemorates theJune 29Dayof St.Peter and St.Paul, followers of Jesus Christwho diedmartyredfor proclaimingthe religion of hismaster.
